Welcome
This is the web site of the Danish Demographic Society.
We unite anyone with an interest in demography, demographic processes and changes in population composition. Our aim is to foster dialogue on demography in Denmark and to serve as a professional hub for researchers and others working on demographic change – both in Denmark and in other countries.
- We organise an annual meeting where members can meet in person, as well as various seminars, either online or in a hybrid format.
- In addition, we collaborate with our partner organisations in the other Nordic countries under the umbrella organisation Nordic Demographic Association.
We are happy to pass on information about conferences, meetings, job vacancies and similar events with a demographic focus to our members. So please feel free to send us an email at info@demografi.dk
The Danish Demographic Association was founded in 1972 and – after having been inactive for a number of years – was relaunched with a new board in 2023. One of the association’s first major tasks was to organise the Nordic Demographic Symposium in 2025, which Denmark was due to host.
Skagerrak Demographic Series — our newest initiative in cooperation with the Norwegian Demographic Society.
The Danish Demographic Society will offer regular seminars in hybrid format and one workshop per year in presence. In 2025, the Society organized the Nordic Demographic Symposium.
